Beef Stroganoff

I tweaked a recipe I found on pinterest tonight and it turned out so yummy! Here’s my recipe for you, it’s a skillet meal, so you’ll only dirty one pan 😉

What you’ll need:

– about 2 Tbsp olive oil
– 1 lb beef (I used some small steaks, cut into strips; but you could use any cut, even ground beef)
– 1/4 onion, diced
– some kind of vegetable (I used 3 celery stalks, diced)
– 3 cups egg noodles
– about 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
– about 2 Tbsp ketchup
– 1 cup milk (I used almond milk)
– 2 cups water
– salt, pepper, parsley, oregano, garlic powder, and paprika (to taste, I like a lot of flavor! I just sprinkle generously.)
– 1 Tbsp flour

How to make it:

Put the oil in a large skillet. Brown the meat. When the meat is almost cooked through, add the onion and vegetables. Add 1 Tbsp of the Worcestershire sauce and all the seasonings. Mix in the ketchup, milk, and 1 1/2 cups of the water. Add the noodles and let sauce come to a boil. Cook about 8 minutes, stirring a couple times. When the liquid is almost gone, spoon about 3 Tbsp of it into a coffee mug, add the flour and mix with a fork. Add the other 1/2 cup of water to the mug, mix again, and add mixture to the skillet (this will thicken the sauce). Add the other 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce and stir well. Voila! A million times better than hamburger helper =)
